Day to Day

What is the general schedule of the day?

    • First bell (teachers on duty) – 8:30 am
    • Entry – 8:40 am
    • 1st Recess – 9:55 am – 10:10 am
    • Lunch – 11:30 am -12: 35 pm
    • 2nd Recess – 1:55 pm – 2:10 pm
    • Dismissal – 3:20 pm


Where can I find a list of PA days/school closures?

What is the School Messenger App?

    • The School Messenger app or website provides a faster and easier way to report absences and receive communication sent by the TDSB and your school (this will also go to the email that you have on file). More details about how to get started with School Messenger are available here.

How do I report my Child absent or late?

    • If your child is going to be late/absent, call the school at 416-393-1745. Follow the prompts to leave a message, be sure to include their name, room number and reason for being absent or late. You can also report them through the School Messenger App


Getting to/from school:

Let’s all work together to keep our kids safe!

    • Walking to school? There is a crossing guard located at the corner of Danforth and Gledhill.
    • Bike racks are located at the front of the school and at the north end of the school yard for your use/convenience.
    • If you drive your child to school, please obey the posted parking/stopping signage in front of the school and note the bylaw limiting idling to 1 min.

However you get to school, please be aware that Gledhill Avenue can be very busy at drop off/pick up times. Stay alert whether on foot, on bike, or in a car!


Is Gledhill a Nut-Free School?

    • Yes, Gledhill is a nut-free school (No Peanuts, Walnuts, Cashews, Almonds, etc.) . Please be sure to send nut-free snacks/lunches. Any other allergy considerations specific to your child’s class will be communicated by the teacher in the first few days.

What is School Cash Online and how do I sign up?

    • School Cash Online is a convenient way to pay for school events, field trips, pizza days, yearbooks, etc. Sign up here and assign your student(s) to your account. As items become available, they will show up under your student(s) tab. Select the items you wish to purchase and check out using echeck or a credit card.
