Kindergarten Orientation
For new Kindergarten kiddos only. Wednesday May 31st from 10:30-11:30 in the yard. *weather permitting*

Spring Concert
Spring Concert on May 25th at 6pm in the gymnasium.
Students are asked to go to their class at 5:45 pm and meet their teacher/ instructor. Students who are performing with their classroom should go to their homeroom, USchool Ukulele to the music room (19) and Junior Choir to room 15.
The following classes/groups will be performing: Room 6, Room 8, Room 24, Room 29, Uschool Ukuleles and Junior Choir (grades 3-5).

NEW THIS SPRING: Instead of raffling off the front row seats, we are asking for audience members to make a donation of $2 each. This money will go towards a future arts presentation at Gledhill for all students to enjoy.

Fundraising Initiatives

East Toronto $2 Coffee
For the month of May, proceeds from all drip coffees sold at East Toronto Coffee will go towards our yard redevelopment. On Wednesdays, we bring the coffee to you in the school yard from 8-9:30am. Cash and Tap payment accepted.

Family Pizza Night
Tuesday May 16th, skip the cooking and order pizza from Dominos. Click here for more information

Spring FUNDrive
Until May 16, you can bring that small household items to be donated to the FUNDrive. Click here to learn more.

Movie Night at School
May 26th will be our final movie night for the year. Doors open at 6, movie starts at 6:30. Movie details to follow later this month.

Family Fest
Mark your calendars, Thursday June 15 from 3:30-7pm. More details to follow but you can expect a BBQ, Bouncy houses, popcorn and more! We are also looking for volunteers, if you are interested please email us at thegledhillguardian@gmail.com

ICYMI – Grab Your Coffee in the Yard TOMORROW

Tomorrow, Wednesday May 10, grab an East Toronto Drip Coffee for $2 in the school yard from 8am-9:30am. We will be set up on the main throughway between the school and Cedarvale Ave.

Cash and Tap Payment accepted. All proceeds go to support our yard redevelopment.

Also show your support for East Toronto Coffee, a great local business!

Support a great local business. Grab your coffee this Wednesday May 3rd at East Toronto Coffee 2318 Danforth Ave (Danforth & Oak Park) and proceeds will support our school yard redevelopment.

Spring Clean for Gledhill!

As we gear up for spring and perhaps you kick start some cleaning, consider bringing some of your old stuff to Gledhill to raise funds for the school. Check out some of the initiatives below to make your spring cleaning a breeze!

Household Goods FUNdrive

From April 24 until May 14, bring in your old toys, clothes, books or small household items to help raise money for Gledhill. Details below.

Used Writing Utensil Recycling

In conjunction with Staples Business supplies, used markers and pens are being collected to ensure they are properly recycled. Please drop them in the appropriate box by the front door of the school.

Dead Battery Collection

Staff and students may bring small batteries from school and home to be dropped off in the white battery recycled bucket near the first floor front door and on the third floor. Our participation ensures that chemicals are kept out of water and soil. Also, the more we recycle the more chanced Gledhill has chances to wish cash prizes towards school-yard greening projects. So bring us those batteries!

Reminder: Day of Pink and Bake Sale

Tomorrow is Pink Day and the Grade 5 Bake Sale. The sale is by students for students. If you choose, please send your child with some quarters to purchase baked goods. If allergies are an issue please consider sending your child with a safe baked good. We cannot guarantee that all homemade items are completely nut free.
