  1. In honour of the Blue Jays making it to the ALCS we would like students and staff to wear their Blue Jay colours this Friday at school!
  2. Chess in the classroom begins today.
  3. Chess club at lunch and afterschool starts tomorrow.
  4. Happy Yom Kippur to our jewish friends
  5. Oct 17 – Ukulele begins
  6. Oct 21 – Movie night

Pizza lunches are back!

pizza-31782_640Again this year, Gledhill School Council is pleased to coordinate the Pizza Lunch fundraiser for students in grades 1-6 who would like to participate. Proceeds are used to help ALL grades with the cost of workshops, Drama with Jeff, and more. Please order online at http://www.GledhillSchoolCouncil.ca

Pizza dates for this school year are as follows:

Friday, October 28th                                           Friday, March 31st

Friday, December 9th                                        Friday, May 5th

Friday, January 27th                                            Friday, June 2nd

Orders must to be submitted by THURSDAY, OCTOBER 20th.  Please note that no pizza will be sold on the day of the lunch.  Refunds will not be made if your child is absent from school on a pizza day.

If you have any questions please email pizza@GledhillSchoolCouncil.ca . School Council would like all students to be able to participate if they wish to do so. There are funds available to cover the cost for students if finances are a concern.

  1. Tomorrow, Friday, is a PA day.
  2. Monday is Thanksgiving holiday and when we return on Tuesday, October 11, Junior choir is at lunch.
  3. A reminder to all Gledhill families about the Terry Fox Family Walk happening tonight at 7pm. Meet us in the gym for a SPIRIT SQUAD send off! Glow necklaces will be sold after school and again tonight, outside by the long walkway. All proceeds go to the Terry Fox Foundation.
  4. Pizza lunches will start up October 28th. Forms and online payment info will be sent home next week!

School Council Election Results

A big thank you to everyone who attended our first school council meeting! We had a large turnout with many people offering their services to help out the council this year.

Names were put forth for the following council positions and none were contested, so all positions were acclaimed without needing paper ballots:

The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 25. All parents are voting members of the school council and welcome to attend any meeting. Housekeeping items will be discussed 6-6:30 and main agenda items will begin at 6:30pm. Childcare and snacks will always be provided!
