Highlights from this morning’s announcements:
“I would like to acknowledge that this school is situated upon traditional territories. The territories include the Wendat, Anishinabek Nation, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the Mississaugas of Scugog, Hiawatha, Alderville First Nation and the Métis Nation. The treaty that was signed for this particular parcel of land is collectively referred to as the Williams Treaties of 1923 and applies to lands east of Woodbine Avenue. I also recognize the enduring presence of Aboriginal peoples on this land.”
- Hello everyone! The library will be hosting a one day book fair on Tuesday, April 30th. The book fair will be open from 8:30am -5:30pm. Students will be able to visit during the day with their class or afterschool with their parents. he book fair will be hosted by Children’s French Book Corner and will offer resources in French. See you at the book fair!
- Eco Club message: The battery recycle bin near the main office will be picked up sometime in the next week or so. If you have batteres to recycle please bring them by tomorrow or you might miss your chance for this year. Thanks for keeping harmful chemicals out of our water and soil.
- Staff and students – This year, Grades 3, 4 and 5 students who have a bike in good working condition and a well fitting CSA approved bike helmet are invited to participate in a bke safety skills rodeo. Permission forms have been given to Grade 3, 4 and 5 teachers. Please turn completed permission forms to soon. The bike rodeo is less than 10 days away and will happen May 3rd.
