Daily Announcements – Friday, December 16th

announcementHighlights from the morning announcements:

  1. A reminder that all donations of food and gifts must be brought down by Tuesday at 9am—the pickup is on Tuesday morning. Thank you for your generous donations!
  2. Our girls’ basketball team finished off their season yesterday with a very close game that saw our Tigers fall just short. We’re very proud of our team for showing such determination and commitment this year. Their hard work has landed them in 2nd place in the South Conference. Party with the coaches next week, girls!
  3. The boys and girls who tried out or are trying out for basketball this year please see Mr. Webb right away at morning recess for an exciting announcement.

  1. A reminder to the AV crew to join Mr Lippert for the audio set up in the gym at 11:30. Thank you
  2. Thanks for a great dress rehearsal yesterday! Please remember, if you are performing to be at the class by 5:45. Posters will be at each entry so that you and your families know where to go.
  3. Dear Eco-Club members: Our Thursday meeting is cancelled tomorrow. We will meet next Thursday as usual.
  4. See you tonight: Pizza will be sold starting at 5pm, performers need to be in the their classes by 5:45 and the concert starts at 6pm. Don’t forget to bring a non-perishable food item if you can!

  1. Today is a big day at Gledhill. We started with the Running Club running in snow for the first time. We also have a pizza lunch and a movie night—what a treat for Gledhill!
  2. Today is the last day for Santa’s naughty list and nice list. Make sure you tell Santa the truth!

Coffee and Conversation This Morning – Bring your mug!

Don’t for get your refillable mug this morning. The air will be crisp and coffee will be hot! Join us for a coffee or tea in the school ground after morning drop off – compliments of the Gledhill School Council.

Rushed on concert night? Not sure what to do for dinner? Read on….

snowflakeIn a time crunch on Concert Night? No time for dinner before the performance? Not to worry! Gledhill School Council will be selling Pizza and Treats before the concert. Here’s the deets:

  • Food will be for sale from 5pm-5:45pm in the basement hallway.
  • $2 per pizza slice
  • $2 per treat bag
  • $1 per apple
  • In order to keep our school clean, there will be NO FOOD allowed in the gym or upstairs in the classrooms. Please enjoy your food in the hallway and enter the gym to find your seats when you are finished.

  2. Eco-club will meet today in Room 6. Bring your lunch please.
  3. Eco-tip of the week: reuse paper, be sure to use both sides and recycle it when you are done.
  4. Tomorrow is PIZZA LUNCH and MOVIE NIGHT!

  1. Choir members who plan on performing at the Marlies game, have just over a week to get their ticket orders in, including the media release forms.
  2. Spirit squad – quick meeting in Room 24 at 11:30. Bring your lunch and jackets.
  3. Best of luck to our basketball team today!
  4. Young Women on the Move will meet Thursday at lunch in Room 24.
  5. There will be coffee and conversation on Friday morning in the schoolyard. Hope to see you there!

Daily Announcements – Thursday, December 1st

announcementHighlights from the morning announcements:

  1. Today we will have our first “Thursday Lights Out” for this school year. After last recess please turn off your lights.
  2. A message for Eco-club: Eco-club members will have our first meeting today. Please meet outside of room 6 with your lunch and permission form at the beginning of lunchtime. We will eat together and make plans. See you then! From Mme Leclerce and Mme Roshi.
  3. Decorations! Big bright and festive needed for the Winter Concert. If you can loan any seasonal art to Mrs Bailey for the concert it would be greatly appreciated. Include your class number on the back so it can be returned to you.
  4. Today at lunch we have: Eco-club, Ukulele, chess, and Maker club primary.
  5. There will be a girls basketball practice today from 3:30 to 5.
  6. “Find your magic” presentation will be at 8:55 for Kindergarten to Grade 2, and at 10:30 for Grades 3 to 6 in the gym.
  7. Don’t forget there is a parent council meeting tonight at 6 in the library. All are welcome! Arrival is anywhere between 6 and 6:30 and there is childcare and pizza available for everyone.
  8.  Tomorrow is a PA day.

  1. Today is Primary Choir. Please be in the music room at 11:45 and please be sure not to skip!
  2. The anti-bullying magic show is coming to our school! Toronto magicians Brent and Sarah have performed all over the world and on Disney Cruise Line and on December 1st (this Thursday) they are coming to our school with a funny magic show and a powerful message about bullying and self=confidence. Together we can continue to make bullying disappear!
  3. Thursday Dec 1st is Ukulele Kids and the last Chess classes for this term.
  4. Friday Dec 2 is a PA Day.
