Daily Announcements – Thursday, January 12

Highlights from this morning’s announcements:

  1. This is your last chance to buy Marlie’s hockey game tickets. The deadline has been extended and tomorrow is the last day to buy tickets. This is a great fundraiser where friends and family are invited to join Gledhill students to watch a Marlie’s game, listen to OUR choir sing the national anthem and skate on the ice afterwards (They can be ordered online at https://gledhillschoolcouncil.ca/marlies/)
  2. If you are in Grades 2-6 and you are interested in dancing, please come to a quick meeting at morning recess in front of the office for our Folkfest club. Please bring your outdoor clothes.
  3. Eco Club will meet today in Mme Roshi’s class at lunchtime. See you there! From Mme Leclerc
  4. Chess Club starts today
  5. Maker’s Club and Forest of Reading meet today at lunch in the library.

Pizza Lunch DATE CHANGE

pizza-31782_640 PLEASE NOTE that due to a conflict with a school sporting event, the May 5th Pizza Lunch has been CHANGED TO MAY 12th.

If you already ordered pizza for May 5th, your child will automatically be served pizza on May 12th instead. If you do not want pizza on May 12th, please email pizza@GledhillSchoolCouncil.ca and we can process a refund for you.

Next Pizza lunch coming up on January 27th!

  1. The deadline for Marlie’s tickets has been extended to this FRIDAY. Last chance to bu your Marlie’s tickets!
  2. Chess club begins tomorrow – this session runs until March 2nd
  3. MakerSpace for grades 2 and 3 is tomorrow at lunch.
  4. Forest of Reading students, we meet tomorrow at lunch in the library
  5. The next Parent Council meeting is Tuesday, January 17th at 6pm, in the library.
  6. Next Friday, January 20th, is a PD day.

  1. Choir today is for both Junior and Senior members who are performing at the Marlies game.
  2. Could the house league volleyball players please meet Mrs Pace for a brief meeting at morning recess in the gym.
  3. Please remember that snow stays on the ground, do not slide on the ice, and stamp the snow off your boots when coming back inside!

Daily Announcements – Monday, January 9th

  1. Choir is tomorrow for both Junior and Primary Choir, for members who are performing the anthem at the Marlies game. See you in the music room at 11:45.
  2. Forest of Reading club is meeting today in the library. Bring your lunch to the library at 11:30 and wait outside for an adult. We are looking forward to reading together!
  3. MakerSpace club is also meeting today at lunch in the library.
  4. To all grade 4, 5, and 6 boys and girls interested in house league volleyball, please come to the gym at morning recess. You will be going outside so dress for the weather. From Mrs Pace.

  1. Caroling takes place in the gym again today at 10:30. Come one, come all and celebrate the season with some fun songs! And in your PJs—how fun!
  2. Last call for Marlies ticket orders. If you have an order form, please send it to the office right after these announcements.
  3. Forest of Reading forms are due today. Make sure you hand them in. Happy reading over the holidays!

  1. Our first caroling is today after morning recess in the gym.
  2. Don’t forget, Friday is Pajama Day
  3. From the Eco-club: We have another great idea on how to green our christmas: Isaiah from Room 15 suggests unplugging the christmas lights before you go to sleep. Isaiah this is a great way to save energy, prevent air pollution and save money! Your hot chocolate will arrive sometime today!
  4. Don’t forget to get your Marlie’s ticket orders in! Go online to http://www.GledhillSchoolCouncil.ca or get a form from Mrs Bailey 🙂

  1. There is no choir tomorrow
  2. Due to the Thursday presentation, caroling will be on Wednesday and Friday only.
  3. All students attending the Raptors 905 game tomorrow, please make sure you hand in your forms to Mr Webb today! Preferably this morning.
  4. Students, please return all overdue books to the library today or tomorrow, so that you can borrow new books for the holidays. Ms Kopka
  5. Attention students in grades 3-6, if you are interested in joining the Forest of Reading, come to the library at recess this afternoon for a brief information meeting and to pick up your permission form. See you at last recess! Ms Kopka.
  6. From Eco-club: Congratulations to Alexis in room 26 who has a great idea to help green christmas: “We can donate money to animal shelters to help buy food and medicine for the animals”. We can give gifts like this is someone’s name, who doesn’t want or need more stuff. Thanks Alexis! Your hot chocolate will arrive sometime today!

Daily Announcements – Friday, December 16th

announcementHighlights from the morning announcements:

  1. A reminder that all donations of food and gifts must be brought down by Tuesday at 9am—the pickup is on Tuesday morning. Thank you for your generous donations!
  2. Our girls’ basketball team finished off their season yesterday with a very close game that saw our Tigers fall just short. We’re very proud of our team for showing such determination and commitment this year. Their hard work has landed them in 2nd place in the South Conference. Party with the coaches next week, girls!
  3. The boys and girls who tried out or are trying out for basketball this year please see Mr. Webb right away at morning recess for an exciting announcement.

Daily Announcements – Wednesday, December 14th

  1. A reminder to the AV crew to join Mr Lippert for the audio set up in the gym at 11:30. Thank you
  2. Thanks for a great dress rehearsal yesterday! Please remember, if you are performing to be at the class by 5:45. Posters will be at each entry so that you and your families know where to go.
  3. Dear Eco-Club members: Our Thursday meeting is cancelled tomorrow. We will meet next Thursday as usual.
  4. See you tonight: Pizza will be sold starting at 5pm, performers need to be in the their classes by 5:45 and the concert starts at 6pm. Don’t forget to bring a non-perishable food item if you can!
