Book Fair Still Needs Helpers! – Mornings – Today, Fri, Mon and Tues – sign up below

Each year our librarian organizes a Scholastic Book Fair. It runs November 9th through 15th and gives parents and students a chance to purchase books in support of our school library. The fair will have some during school hours and some after school hours.

Parents helpers are needed to “man the store.” Please sign up in the following Google doc if you are able to help out: http://bit.ly/2dGkxHQ

Daily Announcements – Monday, November 7th

announcementHighlights from the morning announcements:

  1. Remembrance Day is only 4 days away. How will you remember?
  2. Uschool ukulele meets Thursday at 11:30. Bring your uk’s and folders please!
  3. Students helping with the Remembrance Day assembly should bring their written part + lunch and go to Room 30 at 11:30.
  4. Students singing In Flanders Fields please bring your lunch and meet at room 30 as well at 11:30. You will also meet at morning recess in the music room.

  1. Mrs. Pace will meet with grades 5 & 6 girls and boys who play ice hockey for a brief meeting in the gym at morning recess.
  2. There is no Remembrance Day practice today.
  3. Happy field trips to Room 28—going to Downsview Park—and Room 26—going to the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair!

Gledhill School Council presents Marlies Day

Come and join us for the third annual Marlies Day at the Ricoh Coliseum.

Saturday, February 4, 2017 3:00 p.m.

This is a family, friend’s and community event. Join the friends and family of Gledhill right after the game as we take over the ice for an hour long skate party.

Friends, family, community members – all are welcomed to cheer on The Toronto Marlies – the Toronto Maple Leafs farm team. phalon-3110-768x512

Tickets:  $20

Or, download and print the permission form and return it with cash or cheque payment to the office.

Again this year, the Gledhill School Choir has been invited to sing the national anthem. Any choir members who are interested in singing please talk with Mrs. Bailey.
Choir MEMBERS ONLY who do wish to take part tickets are available at a discount of $15. (online purchase or download and print)

Getting there
Transit: Go Transit and the TTC both drop off a short walk to Ricoh Coliseum. They are your best, and most economical option.
Parking is available at a premium price.

  3. The door decorating contest for Hallowe’en is ON and the doors will be judged on Monday.

  1. We still have a box of those very good apples in the office, come and get them!
  2. If you are in grades 4, 5, and 6 and would like to be part of a special singing performance for Remembrance Day, please come to the music room at morning recess today.
  3. MakerSpace club for grades 2-3 is starting today, please bring your lunch to the library at 11:30. Wait outside of the library for an adult.

  2. Best of luck to Talya who will be representing Gledhill at the city finals in cross-country.
