Friday is Ray Day!

Ray the Crossing Guard is retiring. Come out and help send him off with a SURPRISE THANK YOU PARADE! On Friday, December 19th at 8:15am we will meet in two secret spots. Join us at either the corner of Keystone and Patricia, or Oak Park just north of Danforth (out of Ray’s sight!). Come prepared to make some noise – bring noisemakers, homemade instruments, whatever may be in your toy box! Have your child write a letter to Ray, create a card, draw a picture, make a sign – ideally every child has something to hand over to Ray. At 8:20am, the music will begin and we will parade en masse, cheering for Ray, dancing up a storm. One by one, the kids will line up and say thank you and give him their card/letter/drawing. Parents too! After all, this is the man who jumps in front of cars every day for our safety, and does it all with a smile!
Please tell you neighbours and meet us on Friday morning at 8:15am to make some NOISE and show some THANKS!! Please note, we will be videotaping the parade, and taking pictures for local papers.

Winter Concert Thanks

singing_children

Those who attended the Winter Concert(s) know how hard all of the students and staff worked to make it a memorable evening. A big thank you to Ms Bailey, Mme O’Gorman and pianist Ali Vawser for their commitment to music education at Gledhill. Special mention must be made of the Gledhill staff who worked ‘behind the scenes’. These are the teachers who stayed back in their classrooms with groups of excited students, staffed doors and prepared their classes for the big day. Truly a team effort.

Last, but not least, congratulations to all of the students who worked so hard and made their parents so proud!

Kindergarten students will begin their show at 5 pm and the grade 1-6 show will begin at 6 pm. Students performing should receive information from their homeroom teachers about the time and place that they should meet prior to the concert. In addition to the choirs, half of the classes will perform at this concert, while the other half will present in the spring.
