Daily Announcements – Monday, December 18th

Highlights from this morning’s announcements:

Read first: “I would like to acknowledge that this school is situated upon traditional territories. The territories include the Wendat, Anishinabek Nation, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the Mississaugas of Scugog, Hiawatha, Alderville First Nation and the Métis Nation. The treaty that was signed for this particular parcel of land is collectively referred to as the Williams Treaties of 1923 and applies to lands east of Woodbine Avenue. I also recognize the enduring presence of Aboriginal peoples on this land.”

  1. Caroling will follow the Character Assembly tomorrow.
  2. Primary Choir will meet for a brief get together tomorrow at 11:45am. Mrs Bailey will pick you up.
  3. A message from the Eco Club: Thank you to all the students who have shared an idea for how to “Green” your holiday season. Today’s hot chocolate winner is: “J” from Rm 24. Her idea was: “Don’t wrap gifts, just hide them or reuse paper or a simple ribbon.” Thanks “J” this is a great way to save paper and trees. Your hot chocolate will arrive later this afternoon. Thanks! From the Eco Club.

Mr Currie talked about:

  • Weather – wearing your gear and the snow stays on the ground
