Have you set up your account for the school’s new Cash Online program? Once you have, you can use it to easily pay for school fees like field trips and also this year’s Gledhill Yearbook.

  1. Eco Club: Thanks to all those who have participated in Bike to School week. We “caught” 76 students and staff biking to school today. We also caught 10 students riding scooters. This is great for keeping the air clean and staying healthy!
  2. We are starting to collect all of our library books today. All books are due back by June 5th.
  3. We will be taking group photos for the yearbook at recess in the Library. The following teams please report to the  library at 1:55: Kindie Helpers, Prefects, Girls and Boys Soccer Teams and Slo-pitch teams.
  4. Next Tuesday, June 5th is Gledhill’s Bike Rally for grades 1-6. Forms going home in backpacks yesterday and today.  Extra forms with further details can be found HERE

  1. Eco Club: Did you get caught biking to school today? We hope so. The first 50 students who are spotted biking to school this week will receive a cool bike sticker! Get rolling and have a great week!
  2. Yearbook Committee will meet today at lunch in the Library. We will eat lunch in the library.

Gledhill’s Annual Bike Rally – Tuesday, June 5th

Gledhill’s Annual Bike Rally is only a week away! Next Tuesday, June 5th, students in Grades 1 through 6 may bring their bikes to school and participate in a morning session of bike safety led by Officer Jon and facilitated by parent volunteers.

Session #1: Grades 1, 2 and 3  – 8:50 – 10:05 am

Session #2: Grades 4, 5 and 6 – 10:20 – 11:30 am 

Paper permission forms should be appearing in a backpack near you and are to be returned by this Friday, June 1st.

  1. A reminder to all grade 3 & 4 classes: Please escort your students to the large lunchroom at 10:30am for a USchool Ukulele presentation by Melanie Doane. If you have a split class and need someone to supervise your students please send a note or call Ms. Bailey following the announcements.
  2. Message from Eco Club: Next week is Bike-to-School Week! If you “get caught” riding your bike you could receive a bike sticker. There are stickers for the first 50 bikes we catch! Thanks for participating.
  3. This is an announcement for all students who signed up to help with the student vote. We will have a short meeting today at afternoon recess in room 30. Get informed, VOTE!

Free Community Event – Summer Kick Off in the Park

Traffic Safety Forum is next Tuesday, May 29th

A local parent has organized the meeting outlined below to gather feedback from parents about their children’s daily walk to school and what can be done to make it safer. If you cannot attend the meeting you can email your feedback to the council at thegledhillguardian@gmail.com. The Gledhill Council will be gathering all suggestions and emailing it to the organizer in advance of the meeting. Thank you to those who have already submitted their concerns and suggestions.

  1. Congratulations to all of the students involved in last night’s Spring Concert. It was a wonderful performance by all. Thank you staff for all your efforts putting it together.
  2. A message from Eco-Club: Staff and Students – Next week is Bike to School week but you can bike or roll or walk to school anytime! Please lock bikes up on the bike racks or on the fence on the asphalt. Please do not lock bikes up in the garden.
  3. Our one day French Book Fair was a success! Thank you to all students, parents and staff for supporting this event!
