Highlights from this morning’s announcements:
Read first: “I would like to acknowledge that this school is situated upon traditional territories. The territories include the Wendat, Anishinabek Nation, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the Mississaugas of Scugog, Hiawatha, Alderville First Nation and the Métis Nation. The treaty that was signed for this particular parcel of land is collectively referred to as the Williams Treaties of 1923 and applies to lands east of Woodbine Avenue. I also recognize the enduring presence of Aboriginal peoples on this land.”
- A reminder to visit the lost and found! All remaining items left after the end of the day on Monday will be donated to Centre 55. Teachers, if possible please walk your class by this area before the end of the day Monday.
- From Ms. Bailey: A huge thank you to all of the staff who made last evening’s Winter Concert run so smoothly! Too all the performers—what a fantastic job last night! Your practice and hard work paid off! It was wonderful.
A message from Mr. Currie:
Amazing job by all students in Kindergarten and Grades 1-6! A big thank-you to our school council reps for setting up our coffee and tea at the Kindergarten concert as well as those helping out with pizza, snacks and water last night. Also a big thanks to Ms. Bailey for all efforts coordinating our 1-6 concert and Mme Willoughby for doing the same for our kindie concert!
