Updates on Gledhill School Council fundraising efforts

ORDERS ARE DUE BY THIS FRIDAY NOVEMBER 1st!!!

PIZZA LUNCH ORDERS

Again this year, Gledhill School Council is pleased to coordinate the Pizza Lunch fundraiser for students in grades 1-5 who would like to participate. Proceeds are used to help ALL grades with the cost of programs and resources that enrich the Gledhill School experience such as workshops, Drama with Jeff, and more.

Pizza dates for this school year are as follows:

  • Friday, November 29th
  • Friday December 13th
  • Friday January 24th
  • Friday February 28th
  • Friday March 27th
  • Friday April 24th
  • Friday May 29th
  • Friday June 19th

Orders must to be submitted by FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 1st.  Please note that no pizza will be sold on the day of the lunch.  Refunds will not be made if your child is absent from school on a pizza day.

If you have any questions please email GSCPizza@gmail.com . School Council would like all students to be able to participate if they wish to do so. There are funds available to cover the cost for students if finances are a concern.

IF YOU PREFER TO PAY CASH, PAPER FORMS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE OFFICE

Pizza lunches cannot take place without the help of several parent volunteers. If you can help with the setting up and serving of pizza for 1 or more pizza lunches please email us at GSCPizza@gmail.com.   Thank you!

Hello Gledhill families!

We are looking for individuals who are able to give a bit of their time tomorrow,  Friday October 25th at our first Movie Night of the year!

This is one of the important fundraisers that we do that help raise funds for school initiatives!  It is with parent and family help that these events are so successful!

If you’re not able to volunteer for this Movie Night, there are three more movie nights this school year that we will still need help for!

We have had a lot of parents and families asking if we will be having pizza lunches this year at Gledhill…

The answer is YES!

We will be posting information on Monday September 30th here on the blog, including dates, pizza options and online ordering details.  Forms for ordering will also be available next week in the school office.

Getting Ready for Back to School

Now that the long weekend is behind us it’s time to start thinking about getting our kids ready to return to school (Tuesday September 3rd).

As you start preparing for lunches, indoor shoes and other miscellaneous items that could be misplaced it’s a good time to think about ordering labels for your lunch containers, water bottles, hoodies, jackets, backpacks, shoes and anything else that you can add a label to.

Big Family Fest “Thank yous”

Last Friday we had amazing weather and a fantastic turnout to Gledhill’s Annual Family Fest. Each year the event raises valuable funds for the school council supported programs and initiatives including Drama with Jeff, Scientists in School and Skate Day.

We’d like to say a few important thank yous:

THANK YOU to all the local businesses who contributed to the day including Davidson’s valu-mart who donated all the food for the BBQ, Kevin Smith for donating the loot bag contents, the Fire Station on Woodbine for visiting with their truck and Toronto Water for sending the water truck.

THANK YOU to all the familes who attended the event and supported this important fundraiser.

THANK YOU to Andrea A and her team of parent volunteers who helped set up, man the stations and clean up afterwards.

THANK YOU to everyone who baked and cooked for the food tables.

And finally, a HUGE THANK YOU to Chantal, Marni, Scarlett and Melissa who have worked so hard to organize and run many of our fundraisers over the last few years!

Family Fest is TOMORROW after school!

A few notes ahead of tomorrow’s exciting event:

  1. We are still in need of volunteers for a few one hour shifts AND finger foods for our pot luck food table. Please check out the Sign Up site to see where help is needed and to indicate what food you can bring. Any volulnteer questions can be directed to gledhillvolunteer@gmail.com
  2. All food and baking donations can be dropped off at the table in front of the office tomorrow morning or after school at Family Fest.
  3. BEAT THE LINE UPS – Unless it is raining, Family Fest tickets and Wristbands will be sold in the school yard tomorrow before school, starting at 8:20 am. (Note: All Wristbands and tickets are non-refundable, even in the case of event cancellation due to rain)
