This is a reminder message that on Saturday February 29th, please join the Gledhill Jr. PS Parent Council to celebrate one extra day this year by attending our annual parent fundraiser.
It’s an opportunity to:
  • get your groove on
  • to bid on some super silent auction items from community businesses
  • get to know the parents of your kids friends and your neighbours
  • use that one extra day this year to do something fun for YOU!

Silent Auction Items Needed

Our grown ups only Leap Year Party is coming up soon on Saturday February 29th! Parents are invited to come and mingle with the Gledhill and local community members!  We will have Gledhill’s own DJ Rhino spinning some great tunes!

To help raise funds for school council initiatives like Drama With Jeff and Scientist in the School, there will also be a Silent Auction where parents can bid on some cool items.

Auction items are still needed!

What can you donate?

  • Tickets to a sporting or theatrical event
  • An item to help promote your business
  • A service you provide that you can auction off
  • That brand new appliance or item that is still in the box that you will never use
  • An item or gift certificate from your favourite local business

No item is too small(or too big!).  Please email thegledhillguardian@gmail.com if you have any questions or something to donate.  Items can also be dropped off at the school office.

Note: Some local businesses have already been approached or have offered donations.

Some sponsors for the night we have so far are:

  • Jack of Sports Bike Camp
  • Jack of Sports Summer Camp
  • EY Baseball Clinics – run by our very own Mrs. Pace’s family!
  • 18-person BOX at a Toronto Marlies Game for the 2020-2021 season

Do you have an hour to spare at lunch time this Friday December 13th?  We are still looking for volunteers to come and help feed the kids who have signed up for pizza lunches!  Come for 1120am, sign in at the office and go downstairs near the gym.  You will be done by 1215pm at the latest!

To all Gledhill families with children in Grades 1-5:

Please note that if you are intrested in purchasing pizza lunches for your child but have not done so, November 30th will be the final day for ALL pizza lunches for the year. You will NOT be able to order online after that date. So please place you orders for the year. Note you will NOT be able to place any pizza lunch orders after November 30th. Thank you.

If there are any Gledhill families with students in Grades 1-5 who are unable to participate in pizza lunches due to financial constraints, please send in a note to your child’s teacher or get in touch with the pizza lunch committee at GSCPizza@gmail.com. There are funds available to support you!

Gledhill Pizza Lunch Volunteers Needed!!

Gledhill’s first pizza lunch for Grades 1-5 is coming up soon – Friday, Nov. 29 – and we are looking for volunteers!
Helping with pizza lunch is fun, fast, and easy.  You sign in at the office at 11:20, head downstairs near the gym, hand out pizza, have a slice yourself and leave by 12:15 at the latest (unless you want to stick around and chat!).

Can you volunteer for Gledhill’s book fair??

Gledhill Jr PS will be hosting our annual Scholastic Book Fair from November 14th until November 21st.

The Book Fair will be open to students, staff and parents during the day.

We will host a family event on Thursday, November 14th after school from 330 to 6pm.

The profits made from our book fairs are used to develop our library collection, purchase classroom resources, and support our makerspace culture. Every year, our book fair is a huge success due to the support from our wonderful parent and teacher community.

If you are able to volunteer during our book fair this year, please take a few minutes to sign up for a shift or two, every little bit helps.
