“I would like to acknowledge that this school is situated upon traditional territories. The territories include the Wendat, Anishinabek Nation, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the Mississaugas of Scugog, Hiawatha, Alderville First Nation and the Métis Nation. The treaty that was signed for this particular parcel of land is collectively referred to as the Williams Treaties of 1923 and applies to lands east of Woodbine Avenue. I also recognize the enduring presence of Aboriginal peoples on this land.”

Lost and Found – June 14th deadline to claim lost items

The Lost and Found in the school basement hallway is OVERFOWING with clothing, footwear and lunch gear. If you have an opportunity, please stop by or remind your child to have a look for their belongings.

All remaining items will be donated to charity on Friday, June 14th

Save the Date: Grade 5 Graduation and After School Party

Attention parents of Grade 5 students:

The Grade 5 graduation ceremony (gulp) will be held at the school, the morning of Monday, June 24.

The parents of the grade 5 students are also planning a dance party after school on the same day! It will be held at Stan Wadlow Clubhouse from 3:30-5:30pm. Details on the party will follow via a paper notice sent home with the grade 5 students. If you have questions or would like to help with planning activities and food, please email nichols_andrea@hotmail.com.

  2. Hi from the Eco-Club! Tomorrow is World Bird Migration Day.  Does anyone in your family have a set of binoculars?  Tomorrow will be a nice day to get out to your park and spot some unusual birds.  Have fun!

  2. Hi from the Eco-Club!  Saturday is Bird Migration Day.  There are things you can do to help birds get back to their summer nesting grounds safely.
    1. if you have large windows, you can paint or attach hawk silhouettes so that other birds avoid hitting your windows.
    2. if you have a garden, plant a tree with berries that some birds would like to eat.
    3. thanks for looking out for the birds!

  1. Tomorrow is the Bike Rodeo for Grades 3, 4, and 5.  Please remember to bring your bike and helmet tomorrow.  You will go to class for attendance after you drop your bike off in the morning at the back of the school near the gym doors.  Dress for the weather!

Yom HaShoah*(Judaism).  Yom Hazikaron laShoah ve-laG’vurah “Holocaust and Heroism Remembrance Day”, known colloquially in Israel and abroad as Yom HaShoah and in English as Holocaust Remembrance Day, or Holocaust Day, is observed as Israel’s day of commemoration for the approximately six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust as a result of the actions carried out by Nazi Germany and its accessories, and for the Jewish resistance in that period.  In Israel, it is a national memorial day.  It was inaugurated in 1953, anchored by a law signed by the Prime Minister of Israel David Ben-Gurion and the President of Israel Yitzhak Ben-Zvi.

Tomorrow is the Bike Safety Skills Rodeo for Grades 3, 4 and 5 – RAIN OR SHINE

There is a plan for indoor bike activities in case the weather is rainy tomorrow. If the weather is dry, bicycles will be parked in the school yard. If it is raining, they will be parked in the gym. Teachers and parent volunteers will be on duty in the yard tomorrow to answer any questions.
