Daily Announcements – Tuesday, December 6th

announcement Highlights from the morning announcements:

  1. Junior choir meets today. Please eat in your proper lunch room before coming to the music room at 11:45. There will be an additional Junior choir practice next Monday, Dec 12th.
  2. Tomorrow is the beverage day fundraiser for room 25.
  3. Remember that Friday this week is a big day – we will have pizza at lunch time and movie night in the evening with “Finding Dory”
  4. We all had an awesome time last Thursday watching Brent and Sarah perform their magic and also deliver a powerful message, don’t forget: Find your magic, you’re not alone, believe in yourself, and anything is possible!

  1. Primary choir is today.
  2. A reminder that the boys mentorship group meets tomorrow afternoon, not today!
  3. Young Women on the Move meets tomorrow at 11:30 in room 24.
  4. Don’t forget to order your tickets for the Marlie’s game BEFORE DEC 16th. Tickets are only $20 each or $15 for choir members. What a deal!

  1. Poster and poem entries are due on Friday. Please send all entries to Room 30.
  2. All students assisting with the Remembrance Day assembly need to bring their lunch and script to the music room at 11:30. This includes the singers.
  3. Singers of “In Flanders Fields” need to go to the music room at morning recess.
  4. Young Women On The Move please come to Ms Ahmad’s room (room 24) at 11:30. Bring your lunch.
  5. November 7-9: Kindness Club visiting classrooms
  6. The Scholastic Book Fair is running November 9th-15th in the library.
  7. Please note that MARLIES ORDERS ARE DUE BY DECEMBER 16th. Get your tickets online at https://gledhillschoolcouncil.ca/marlies/ or use a paper form which was sent home yesterday.

  1. Primary choir is today at 11:45. Grades 1, 2, and 3 students need to be on time please! 🙂
  2. The performers for the Remembrance Day song “In flanders fields” must meet Mrs Bailey in the music room at morning recess. Bring your music please.
  3. Attention all library helpers: please meet Ms Kopka in the library today at lunch. Bring your lunch with you. We will eat together and then prepare for the book fair.
  4. November 2nd is the grade 6 rugby tournament.
  5. Thursday, Nov 3rd is Ukulele kids, Chess club, and MakerSpace at lunch
  6. Report cards go home November 16th

  1. In honour of the Blue Jays making it to the ALCS we would like students and staff to wear their Blue Jay colours this Friday at school!
  2. Chess in the classroom begins today.
  3. Chess club at lunch and afterschool starts tomorrow.

A big thank you to everyone who attended our first school council meeting! We had a large turnout with many people offering their services to help out the council this year.

The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 25. All parents are voting members of the school council and welcome to attend any meeting. Housekeeping items will be discussed 6-6:30 and main agenda items will begin at 6:30pm. Childcare and snacks will always be provided!

International Walk to School Day

Join us as Gledhill tries to get all of its students to walk to school on Wednesday, October 5th in celebration of International Walk to School Day. Get up a little earlier that morning, arrange to meet your neighbours and walk together to school!
