Gledhill’s Annual Family Fest – June 13th

FF14Mark your calendars! Gledhill’s Annual Family Fest is set for Friday, June 13, 3:30 to 6:30 pm, in the schoolyard!

That’s right! Family Fest is fast approaching and organizers have been busy booking a rock climbing wall, bouncy castle, live animal program and many more fun activities for the whole family!

Everyone looks forward to Family Fest every year for great fun, but it’s also an important fundraiser to enable extra curricular programs our kids know and love (like Drama with Jeff, Jungle Sports, and Scientists in the School). But it’s a big event, and we need your support to pull it off.

Here are a few ways you can help:

Volunteer to become a station lead: We need leads to help organize the following activities in advance: Craft Table; Face Painting/Hair Streaking station; Cake Walk; Fun Foods; Prizes; and Raffle.

Volunteer for a shift: Help with set-up, tear down and/or running of activities on event day, such as selling tickets or baked goods, or running a carnival game.

Donate stuff: We’re looking for items that could be used as draw prizes, as well as food for the Bake Sale, Cake Walk and International Foods tables.

To offer your help, please use our online volunteer form at:

Calling All Artists!

100 in 1 day

Mark your calendars! June 7, 2014 is 100 in 1 Day in Toronto :

“This citizen-driven festival will unite people across the city to make Toronto a better place by creating acts of urban change.

These acts, or interventions, have the potential to raise awareness of urban and social issues, inspire ideas, and motivate leaders to consider new approaches to old problems.”

The Gledhill Community is planning an intervention of our own!!! As a large group of parents, students, and members of the community, we are going to create a beautiful work of chain link fence art on the south side of the path that leads to Cedarvale. But, first we need a design. East End Arts is coordinating a call out out to artists to submit designs. Submission deadline is May 20.
