Tree and Garden Watering this Summer

210728_medium

Gledhill is looking for families willing to keep an eye on the weather and water trees and/or gardens once or twice per week as needed throughout the summer.

Don’t worry! We know you won’t necessarily be available each week. Even if you think you would only be available for a morning or evening during certain weeks, this will help! Many hands make light work!!!

If you think this is something you might be available to do with your child/children, please let Mme Leclerc know by contacting her at Chantal.Leclerc@tdsb.on.ca *Please let her know what day of each week would work best for you and whether you would rather water in the morning or evening and we can make up a schedule.

She or Catherine Dorton will show you how and where to get access to water and hoses and give you some tips to ensure our trees and plants are well watered.

Thanks in advance for your time and interest!!!!

PS  The foot print garden has been planted. Thank you for reminding children to go around the footprint graden when they are nearby.

Pizza Lunch Tomorrow

Our final Pizza Lunch of the year is THIS FRIDAY, courtesy of Gledhill School Council. If your child has previously sent in an order form and money, then s/he is all set to enjoy some hot, fresh pizza from Pizza Pizza, along with a cool refreshing drink of milk.

Enjoy!

Daily Announcements – Thursday, May 14th

announcementHighlights from the morning announcements:

1. The permission forms for the TDSB 5K run at Downsview Park are ready for pick up in Room 26. They will also be available when the running club meets this Friday.

2. Folkfest dancers there will be a practice today at lunch at 12:00 in preparation for tonight. Good luck tonight!

We love our bikes!

Gledhill kids had a blast at last week’s bike rally. They had so much fun, they hardly noticed the valuable cycling lessons they were learning: hand signals (left, right and stop), helmet safety, and how to cross at a cross walk, among other things.  And of course, the watermelon after was a huge hit.
A huge thank you to Mark Fowle for organizing and to all the parent volunteers who came out to help.
