The territories include the Wendat, Anishinabek Nation, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the Mississaugas of Scugog, Hiawatha, Alderville First Nation and the Métis Nation. The treaty that was signed for this particular parcel of land is collectively referred to as the Williams Treaties of 1923 and applies to lands east of Woodbine Avenue. I also recognize the enduring presence of Aboriginal peoples on this land.”

1. Hi we’re from the Eco-Club!  Yesterday the Eco-Club visited the large and small lunchrooms to see how well Gledhill students are doing in bringing litter-less lunches.  We saw many students with litter-less lunches and they are entered in the draw for prizes.  Keep it up Gledhill, the Eco-Club will be back next week to check for more litter-less lunches.  Thanks!

Hi, we’re from the Eco-Club!  We were noticing a fair number of reusable containers get left in the playground by kids.  Often they end up broken or put in the garbage.  Students, please make sure that when the recess bell rings to come in, you check to make sure you have everything you brought out with you.  It’s a good idea to put your things in the same place while you’re playing.  Thanks for thinking of the earth!

1. Welcome to our visiting schools from Morse, Secord and Withrow.  We will have a great day together playing co-ed volleyball.

3. Kindergarten-Grade 2 Collaborative Art Project will meet today in Room 8 during lunch.  Children should come with their lunches and outdoor gear.  See you at lunch!
4. Read Aloud Club and Forest of Reading Club meet today at 11:45 in the library.  Readers, eat your lunch and wait to be picked up.  Bring all of your outdoor clothes with you.

2. A big shout out to our Primary and Junior Chess teams for placing 2nd and 3rd at their tournament yesterday- Way to go Tigers!
3. Also, a reminder that we are hosting co-ed volleyball all day tomorrow.  Mr Webb and Mrs. Pace will reach out to teachers about the plan for classes.

3. Grade 1 Makerspace meets today in the library.  Students, eat your lunch first and wait to be picked up at 1145.  Bring all of your outdoor clothing with you.
4. Eco-Club Message- Have you or your parents done any spring cleaning yet?  It’s a great time to collect your used batteries and drop them off in our school collection bin.  The batteries will be recycled and keep harmful chemicals out of our soil and water.  Thanks for thinking of the planet!

1. Hi, we are from the EcoClub.  Today we would like to share with you some tips and ideas on minimizing plastic.
   1. Say no to straws- stop using them
   2. When your parents go grocery shopping, remind them to bring their own reusable bags
   3. Bring a reusable water bottle to school
   4. Pack your lunch in reusable containers
   5. Give up gum.  Gum is made of a synthetic rubber, meaning plastic.

Do your part to help the Earth.  Cut the plastic.
