Silent Auction!

auctionSave the date! Gledhill’s Silent Auction is back! The big event will take place Friday, November 22, 2013 from 7:00 – 10:00 pm. Live auction begins at 7:30pm. This is one of our major fundraisers for the year and a great night out. The Silent Auction offers incredible bargains, delicious food, fine wine and an opportunity to see the gym transformed by floral genius and Gledhill mom, Rosie Jeffares. As always, we need volunteers to make this event a success. Please contact Andrea, at rourkenassif@sympatico.ca, if you can:
  •  Donate goods or services for the auction.
  •  Cook or bake something tasty to contribute to the evening’s finger food.
  •  Work a shift on the night of the auction (set-up, bar, kitchen, cash, clean-up, etc.)

If you are able to procure an item for the Auction, please contact Andrea Rourke. A running list of businesses that have been approached can be viewed here. Admission is $2.00 or food bank donation and it is an Adult Only Event (19 yrs or older).

Reflection on the Toronto Waterfront Marathon Jr.

Screen Shot 2013-10-27 at 11.32.20 AM

Last Sunday, October 20th, 30 Gledhill students joined thousands of runners in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon. Students from 15 schools participated in the Marathon Jr., a 5km run that took the young runners through the downtown core of the city. many parents came out to support their children and some of them ran along side the Gledhill students. A big thanks to Mr McLachlan for joining the group for race day and to Mme Scaife for organizing Gledhill’s participation and preparing the athletes.

Grade 4 students were interviewed after the race and asked about their experience. You can listen to their reflections in our podcast here …
