1. To all Gledhill Hunger Heroes: Tomorrow all food boxes will be picked up for the final count. A special thank you to everyone who brought in food items.

2. The winners of the spooktacular door decorating contest… from Primary: Room 6!! And from Junior: Room 30!! Congratulations!

3. Girls grade 5 and 6 basketball at morning recess in the gym.

2. Gledhill spirit wear is still available, forms can be found in the office or at the door of Room 26.

1. A reminder that junior choir is meeting tomorrow. (Grades 4, 5, and 6)

2. There will be a meeting for ALL boys from the second floor this morning. Please meet Ms. McAleese and Mr. Collins outside the washroom on the second floor at 9:50. Make sure you bring everything you need for recess.

3. Gym classes will be held in the basement today due to the election.

4. We are scaring away hunger this week. Please bring in healthy canned or dried food items for our food drive. Our hunger heroes will be coming by tomorrow to count how many you’ve brought so far. Most needed items are canned beans, lentils, rice or canned fruit and vegetables.

Don’t forget your trustee vote this election!

The Gledhill staff room was the site for an informative meeting as all candidates for TDSB trustee of Ward 16 met for debate on Monday, October 20th.  Moderator Dana Granofsky kept the meeting lively and civilized; Gledhill SACA members arranged the meeting and grade 6 students acted as greeters and guides.

Daily Announcements – Wednesday, October 22nd and Thursday, October 23rd

1. From Mme Scaife: we are very proud of our Gledhill runners! We meet Wednesday morning at 7:30am.

2. Math Caribou: Wednesday at lunch we will meet in Rm 26 to go over the 1st contest and look at strategies we can use to improve our scores.

3. Any students interested in playing ice hockey, please see Ms Alsop this morning (Wednesday) at recess in the gym.

4. Our first pizza lunch is scheduled to take place on Thursday, October 30th. Forms were due back today at the latest. Please see the office if you want to hand in a late form.

1. Reminder for Grades 1-3 (Primary students) that your first choir practice is tomorrow. Please make sure Mrs. Bailey has your permission form.

2. Congratulations to all runners who participated in the Scotiabank Marathon Jr. We had many personal best performances. The running club meets tomorrow at 7:30am.

3. For all your running news and info please visit “Scaife at Gledhill” on Facebook. Remember it is never too late to join the running club!

4. There is a spirit squad meeting at lunch in Rm 24.

Pizza Lunches are Coming!

A Pizza Lunch form came home last week with your child. The forms are due to school on Wednesday, October 22nd. The first Pizza Lunch takes place on Thursday, October 30th. The form clearly explains everything you need to know including who to contact if you have questions.

Parent Volunteers are needed (and always welcomed) to help make the Pizza Lunches run smoothly and successfully. Many hands make light work! If you can volunteer, please find the email of the Gledhill School Council Volunteer Coordinator at the bottom of the pizza lunch form.
