Read first: “I would like to acknowledge that this school is situated upon traditional territories. The territories include the Wendat, Anishinabek Nation, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the Mississaugas of Scugog, Hiawatha, Alderville First Nation and the Métis Nation. The treaty that was signed for this particular parcel of land is collectively referred to as the Williams Treaties of 1923 and applies to lands east of Woodbine Avenue. I also recognize the enduring presence of Aboriginal peoples on this land.”

2. Today’s “How to Green Your Holidays” hot chocolate winner is “J” from Rm 20. His wonderful idea is to make a donation to an environmental charity as a gift instead of buying things. Thanks for this idea! There are lots of great charities that do work for animals, ecosystems and water. Your hot chocolate will arrive later today.

“Principals for the Day” Ms. Swain and Mr. Hillier talked about:

• Caroling in the gym at 10:30
• Kindie Helpers meet after the announcements in the small lunchroom.
• Prefects meet in front of the office after lunch.

2. Today’s “How to Green your Holiday” Hot chocolate winner is “S” from Rm 29. She suggests: Use ornaments made of natural materials and avoid buying ornaments that are made of plastic. Thanks for your idea! We know that many types of plastics cannot be recycled. Your hot chocolate will arrive sometime this afternoon.
3. Eco Club will meet tomorrow at lunch in Rm 6

1. Mrs. Bailey will meet the Primary Choir at 11:45 in the basement and go to  the Music Room for a brief meeting. Make sure to have your outdoor clothes and boots.
2. This Friday is Pajama Day. Yay! Wear your PJs to school!
3. Grades 2 and 3 students, if you are interested in joining Makerspace Club in January, please see Mrs Kopka in the library this morning to pick up a permission form. M
4. Makerspace and Forest of Reading Forms are due tomorrow.
5. Eco Club will meet on Thursday at lunch. Please bring any outstanding permission forms.

• SPIRIT Day – “Favourite Character Day” The Kindergarteners will participate by BRINGING their favourite book to school for the day. Everyone else in grades 1-6 has the option to dress up as their favourite book/movie character.

2. A message from the Eco-Club: To reduce energy consumption, each Thursday at lunchtime, Eco Club members will be conducting school-wide light monitoring. Please remember to turn off lights, open window coverings and save our resources. Thank you!
3. There is a box in the office for suggestions on how to GREEN up your holidays. Please submit all your ideas!
