  • Twin to Team Day: November is EMPATHY month and Gledhill shows it has heart by reaching out to include someone new…from twins to a team! Find your own twin, triplet, quadruplet and include someone to make a team of look alikes.

The territories include the Wendat, Anishinabek Nation, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the Mississaugas of Scugog, Hiawatha, Alderville First Nation and the Métis Nation. The treaty that was signed for this particular parcel of land is collectively referred to as the Williams Treaties of 1923 and applies to lands east of Woodbine Avenue. I also recognize the enduring presence of Aboriginal peoples on this land.”

  1. Mrs. Pace needs to see all the grade 4/5 boys who signed up for the volleyball team in Gym 1 at PM recess.
  2. USchool Ukulele groups meet today. Same time, same places.
  3. Primary Choir meets tomorrow. Only 3 practices until the Winter Concert!

Principal/Vice-Principal talked about:

  • Apples are available in the office
  • Please put on any outdoor gear that has been sent by your parents.
  • There is ice on the playground marked by pylons.

80’s Dance Party and Silent Auction – HELP NEEDED!

We are in desperate need of some totally tubular people to help out with the 80’s Dance Party & Silent Auction on Sat. Nov. 18. It runs from 7:30 – 12:00 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion on Woodbine.

There are several gnarly jobs, in 1 hr shifts, that need doing including :

  • Selling 50/50 Draw Tickets
  • Monitoring the silent auction tables
  • Pizza Sales
  • End of Night Clean up

Each ticket purchase enters your name in a draw for a Marlies GIFT PACK!

There will be an opportunity for students to skate on the ice before the game starts. If you wish to participate, please arrive at 12:30 to lace up. The pre-game skate starts at 1pm.

*TICKETS can be picked up in the office the week of November 27th 2017.  If you choose to have your child pick up the tickets, Marlies will not be issuing replacement tickets if tickets are lost.

*TICKETS must be picked up by Wednesday, November 29th at 3:30pm (please note that Friday is PA day). Tickets will not be handed out on game day.

Gledhill School Council is hosting an 80’s Dance Party and Silent Auction this Saturday at The Royal Canadian Legion on Woodbine from 7:30 pm – 12:00am. Meet other Gledhill parents, have some fun and raise funds for the school through the silent auction. We have over 50 awesome items available – great for holiday shopping! Please come out and bring your friends. It will be a totally, tubular night! Proceeds go to Gledhill School Council initiatives.

Tickets are $10 online or $12 at the door.

  2. Reminder that the Book Fair starts tomorrow in the Library. (Admin Note: It will be open mornings, but closed during recess, until next Wed, Nov 22 and also open this Thursday after school from 3:30 – 6:00pm for families to shop together.)
